party like its 1774

Its my best friends fancy dress birthday party tonight and so in honour of her (she's going as Marie Antoinette) I thought I'd post these playboy editorial scans. I picked the more demure of the photos to show you and I think these ones are really cute. I love the red shoes with the triple straps even though they look a little stripper-ish....
lily coles playboy shoot caused a lot of controversy, what do you think of this one?
too risqué or something you want to see more of?Align Centre

disney hippy

Miley Cyrus
on the cover of teen vogue showing us that disney can do hippy chic too!
i think with this shoot vogue were trying too hard to portray miley as squeaky clean teen and so the images come across less fashion than other shoots in the past. unlike for example the kirsten stewart shoot (divine!)
the styling here is very simple and almost virginal. i think maybe some earth-coloured accessories could of added life to this shoot... but who am i to criticize teen vogue!
who knows maybe mileys agent has decided its time for her to clean up her image. once and for all. heres hoping!

re-creating the hippy look nowadays can be really successful.
here are some 70s style photos i love.

i cleared out my wardrobe, however i found nothing worthy of selling on so its all going to charity.
i cut up some old black skinny jeans and made hotpants out of them, i really wants to put slits or chains in them and grunge them up but im scared i'll ruin them. may attempt them later with the aid of this excellent guide i found on how to 'wang' up your wardrobe:

they look so good! not sure mine will turn out like that though...

may the force of online shopping not be with you..

im off to see Star Wars the musical tomorrow
:/
shall let you know how that one turns out...
i dont even like the movies and am only going with the boyf however im tempted to go geekily dress up with princess leia hair and some space agey costume!
[inspiration below.]

eugh! just to let you know i got the long awaited Mina UK dress but to my dismay it was nothing like the picture. the colours were muted and dull and the fit was terrible. i look like i was wearing a potato sack... im not having much luck with internet shopping at the moment having recently returned a black Uniqlo shift dress too.

with my absolute lack of money i cant even begin to buy a new spring wadrobe
(i spent my last pennies on gig tickets this week)
and so i have decided to write a comphrensive spring wadrobe list before i go buying.
i really need a wadrobe spring clean but i always worry that i'll end up with nothing to wear.
may check out the wardrobe and see if there anything i could sell and give the rest to charity..

what are you all doing about new spring wardrobes?
lucky enough not be ridiculously broke?

on a totally random note to end the post...i found the ultimate wedding dress.

spring dresses

adios lent!
its spring! : a time for shopping. hello to floaty floral dresses, easter eggs hunts and new season accessories!

accessorize has a really good selection of jewellery at the moment, very on trend and not as expensive as i remeber it being. i picked up a cute gold and velvet intertwined bracelet on wednesday for a mere £5! all the spring dresses are came into stores now, kate moss' new collection launches today but im not really a fan. i always find it too simple and extremely over priced. However Urban Outfitters has a gorgeous range of dresses and i picked the best 4 to bring to you all below.

you'll have to click the image to make it bigger, because for some reason i cant enlarge it..

from left to right: APC Madras Dress £95.00, Luella Floral Dress £210.00, Pink Soda Boutique Dress £125.00 and See By Chloe Floral Dress £325.00.

ok so there a little pricey but i say you should splash out on the first dress of spring.
i am obsessed with this mina dress (below) at the moment. its around £60 on asos.com but i MUST have it. a severe lack of money means alot of pleading with my mother when she comes home from work tonight as im going to need someone to lend me the cash! but ahh isn't it just gorgeous. the colours are awesome, so 60s hippy! Looks like wallpaper The Beatles would have or something
